The INDOO Project aims at defining role, infrastructure and scientific/technical expertise of an operational centre for the monitoring/assessment the state the sea in the Indonesian archipelago and surrounding areas. The centre will support the decision making process for the sustainable use of the marine resources, providing useful information to targeted groups: public authorities and commercial operators (coastal managers, fishermen, shipping companies). The centre will provide data, information and added value products as well as a service for an improved management of the sea with high business impact. The main activities will be: review the state of the art, user need analysis, training and technical forum for the definition of concepts and architecture of an Indonesian Operational Centre for Marine Resources Management, acting in the IOC framework co-operation with EU Operational programmes.
